Resolution of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome after adenoidectomy in congenital central hypoventilation syndrome

Abstract: We report on a 2½‐year‐old boy who is currently ventilated at home by positive pressure ventilation through a nasal mask during the night because of congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS). Up to age 2 he had developed normally. Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD.
