“…The results from this study reveal that, with Qur'ānic authoritativeness as the sole exception, employment status and age are stronger predictors of attitudes toward PMV than all of the religious indicators included in the analysis. This pattern is consistent with previous research that has indicated incongruous effects of religion on several dimensions of attitudinal and behavioral outcomes (Chaves 2010;Levin 1994;Mavor, Louis, and Laythe 2011;Read 2007;Read and Eagle 2011). Particularly germane for our findings is the accumulated scholarship demonstrating how religiosity often interacts with structural and demographic factors to shape attitudes and beliefs.…”
