The experimental material consisted of leaves obtained from 6-and 2-year-old alfalfa plants. Samples were obtained from a field experiment. One day prior to sowing, seeds were stimulated using He-Ne laser light with a surface power density of 6 mW•cm-2-free-fall exposure (L) repeated three times; alternating magnetic field with 30 mT induction and 30 s (P) exposure time; and a combination of laser light and magnetic field (L+P). The results of the stimulation treatments were referenced to non-stimulated samples (control-K). The obtained values of fluorescence lifetime varied from 8.98 to 12.90 ns (t1) and from 3.84 to 5.14 ns (t2). The physical factors applied caused an extension of the lifetimes (t1 and t2), as well as an increase in the chlorophyll a and carotenoid content in 6-year-old cv. Radius leaves, as compared to the control. Contrary observations (i.e., a decrease in the aforementioned indicators) were made for cv. Ulstar (old). In the case of magnetic field stimulation, the longest fluorescence lifetimes, the highest concentrations of chlorophyll a and carotenoids were noted for cv. Radius (old). The content of chlorophyll a was significantly higher in young Lucerne than in older plants.

Environmental snags generate an instantaneous threat to human welfare and lead to death. Climate change and environmental devastation are further augmented, which lead to natural disasters [1]. Starting from the agricultural age towards the industrial age, transformed man-made activities seriously affected the natural environment. The negative implications of man-made activities lead to the total destruction of the natural environment. In 1986, the Greenhouse effect was identified by Svante Ahrrenius [2]. In the modern era, there is a serious global warming consensus due to the rapid increase in GHGs. Global warming (climate change) is one of the most serious problems, caused by the emission of combustion of oil, coal and natural gas (fossil fuels), resulting in the quick rise in greenhouse gases-especially the CO 2 that is deteriorating the environment. Three processes were used for the extraction of total phenol and total flavonoid contents of Anacardium occidentale L. and to determine its antioxidant activity. Whatever the extraction process was, the total flavonoid and total phenol contents were of the same order. With the microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), 666.07 mg gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/100 g dry matter (DM) of total phenol content was obtained from the stem barks, 601.71 mg/100 g DM from the leaves and 69.18 mg quercetin equivalent (QE)/100 g DM from the nuts of cashew. With Soxhlet extraction, 605.47 mg GAE/100 g DM of total phenol content was obtained from the stem barks, 600.38 mg GAE/100 g DM from the leaves, 609.13 mg GAE/100 g DM from the nuts of cashew, then 67.13 mg QE/100 g DM of the total flavonoid content was obtained from the stem barks, 65.13 mg QE/100 g DM from the leaves and 61.75 mg QE/100 g DM from the nuts of cashew. Finally, with mechanical agitation, 608.52 mg GAE/100 g DM of total phenol content was obtained from the stem barks, 604.85 mg GAE/100 g DM from the leaves and 593.47 mg GAE/100 g DM from the nuts of cashew; 76.86 mg QE/100 g DM of total flavonoid content was obtained from the stem barks, 76.31 mg QE/100 g DM from the leaves and 70.39 mg QE/100 g DM from the nuts of cashew. The antioxidant tests revealed that MAE gave better anti-oxidant activity and more phenolic compounds.
