Grande parte das investigações sobre o efeito da velocidade na marcha foi realizada com adultos (KANG; DINGWELL, 2008;HANLON;ANDERSON, 2006;JORDAN, 2007;ENGLAND;GRANATA, 2007;SEGERS et al, 2006), sendo escassos na literatura estudos que descrevam o comportamento da marcha em diferentes velocidades em crianças, principalmente entre os 3 e 4 anos de idade.…”

“…Esse fato é especialmente importante no estudo da marcha em populações que possuem grandes variações no crescimento, como é o caso de crianças. Para minimizar essa variabilidade, relacionada à morfologia, é possível normalizar parâmetros da marcha em quantidades adimensionais (STANSFIELD et al, 2003;HOF, 1996). Essa é uma das maneiras de se verificar se as diferenças na marcha em crianças menores são devidas ao crescimento ou à maturação.…”
