Ruigendijk et al (2006) tested seven Dutch-speaking aphasic individuals and found no asymmetry between the interpretation of pronouns and reflexives in simple transitive sentences. Their agrammatic speakers achieved high performance on reflexives (8/105 incorrect responses) but also on pronouns (8/104 incorrect responses), although they performed worse on these sentences compared to the non-brain-damaged controls.…”
