Reduced surface defects of organometallic perovskite by thermal annealing for highly efficient perovskite solar cells

Abstract: The surface defects of the organometallic perovskite play an important role in the photovoltaic performance of solar cells, which depress the conversion efficiency and cause photocurrent hysteresis.

“…[56][57][58] Considering the variation of the instrument parameters between different labs, the optimizations of the spin-coating conditions were performed individually. [59][60][61] In the solution-processed methods, the solvents used to dissolve the precursor materials affect the morphology and crystalline properties during the formation of perovskites. [62][63][64][65] Them ost commonly used solvents are N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP), r-butyrolactone (GBL), toluene, oramixture of them.…”

“…For photodiodes without any charge carrier trapping or recombination, the ideality factor is expected to be unity. However, because charge carriers are trapped and recombined, most perovskite photodiodes have an ideality factor approximating 2.0 or more . Rearranging Equation enables us to fit the experimental data of the dVdJd1 versus Jd1 relation to obtain the ideality factor as fully described in Figure b.…”

“…Organic solar cells (OSCs) are the potentially novel photovoltaic technologies that pose potential advantages, such as low‐cost production, light weight, mechanical flexibility, solution processability, and scalable low‐temperature fabrication . Accordingly, tandem OSCs have been introduced as an effective method to improve the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of OSCs by stacking two or more sub‐cells with a complementary absorption range .…”
