Recurrent episodes of bronchial obstruction in children: onset of chronic respiratory diseases in adults?

Abstract: Recurrent episodes of bronchial obstruction are most common in young children. Various phenotypes of wheezing/bronchial obstruction in preschool children have been described. Large cohort studies demonstrated that it is possible to estimate the risk of chronic bronchopulmonary diseases (developing in adolescence or adulthood) among children with recurrent episodes of bronchial obstruction.
