Reconstruction of a genome-scale metabolic model for Actinobacillus succinogenes 130Z

Abstract: BackgroundActinobacillus succinogenes is a promising bacterial catalyst for the bioproduction of succinic acid from low-cost raw materials. In this work, a genome-scale metabolic model was reconstructed and used to assess the metabolic capabilities of this microorganism under producing conditions.ResultsThe model, iBP722, was reconstructed based on the functional reannotation of the complete genome sequence of A. succinogenes 130Z and manual inspection of metabolic pathways, covering 1072 enzymatic reactions a… Show more

“…Since 2015, tenths of high-quality GSMM were reconstructed using merlin and at least 11 were published (30)(31)(32)(33)(34)(35)(36). A list of models completely developed in merlin is provided in Table S2.3 (Supplementary material).…”

“…As far as A. succinogenes is concerned, a patent for the production of SA using this strain was registered in 1996 [19], and the first strain isolated from bovine rumen was published in 1999 [20]. “…To elaborate the metabolic machinery of A. succinogenes clearly, 13 C metabolic flux analyses, flow calculation, several central carbon metabolism models, and the major biomass components models were used recently . Subsequently, several efficient expression methods like pLGZ920 plasmid and electroporation markerless knockout methods were proposed .…”
