Abstract: Abstract Gaussian noise usually is considered as additive noise in the communication system. This paper considers the general communication system with non‐Gaussian noise, and discusses the real‐time detection of the random signal in the system from the stand‐point of the theory of Markov process and Bayes decision. A simulation example is presented for the detection of a phase‐modulated signal.
