“…Despite the initial introduction in 1957 and commercialization, CI became widely used in the last 20 years to provide auditory rehabilitation to individuals having severe to profound SNHL (Macherey and Carlyon, 2014;Eshraghi et al, 2017;Sousa et al, 2018;Boisvert et al, 2020;Sharma et al, 2020). “…Beside the improvement of hearing and speech understanding, the assessment of the subjective quality of life before and after cochlear implantation is the second outcome parameter of cochlear implantation that is often used in the literature. A series of investigations could show that the subjective quality of life increases significantly after CI treatment [143][144][145]. Surprisingly, a large meta-analysis revealed that the increased quality of life does not correlate with an increased speech understanding after cochlear implantation [146].…”

“…De Sousa és mtsai [20] két életminőség-kérdőívet használtak a felnőtteken elvégzett cochlearis implantáció hatékonyságának felmérésére, a Nijmegen Cochlear Implant Questionnaire-t és a World Health Organization Quality of Life-ot. A két teszt eltérő aspektusból vizsgálta meg az életminőség fejlődését, azonban mindkét felmérés a cochlearis implantáció eredményességét igazolta.…”
