QUALIDADE DO SÊMEN DE TAMBAQUI (Colossoma macropomum) CRIOPRESERVADO EM DIFERENTES CONCENTRAÇÕES DE GEMA DE OVO

Show more

“…Future studies with new tests with other diluents are essential to find one that is more efficient than semen in natura (and Ringer) for B. amazonicus analyzed here, since the literature reports that the long-term success of cryopreservation is related to several factors , including the composition of the diluent and the intracellular and / or extracellular cryoprotectant used (Pinheiro et al, 2016). In addition, each animal group has a specificity, it Research, Society and Development, v. 9, n. 11, e2589119575, 2020 (CC BY 4.0) | ISSN 2525-3409 | DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.33448/rsd-v9i11.9575 being necessary that the composition of the diluent is adjusted for the seminal characteristics of each species and each seminal technology used (Salmito-Vanderley et al, 2012).…”

“…The preservation of genetic material, whether frozen or simply cooled, is a technique of great ecological and economic interest, since, by preserving certain genetic variability of several species, it can favor biodiversity conservation and existing breeding programs, bringing greater profitability for producers (Pinheiro et al, 2016;Navarro et al, 2016;Marina et al, 2020).…”

“…In the past decade, many studies have developed protocols for tambaqui semen cryopreservation, including evaluation of semen characteristics (volume, motility, sperm count), diluents, cryoprotectants, storage containers, and semen quality pre-and postfreezing, among other aspects, 132,[144][145][146][147]149,[168][169][170][171][172][173][174] and a general protocol for the cryopreservation of tambaqui semen was then established. 148 Cryopreservation has been used to establish germplasm banks to maintain and conserve tambaqui genetic resources.…”
