Pyogenic Granuloma: An Unusual Complication of Papaverine Injection Therapy for Impotence

Abstract: An unusual complication of papaverine injection therapy is reported. A pyogenic granuloma formed after a single test dose of papaverine. Diagnosis, therapy and course of the patient are outlined.

“…1,2 Differential diagnosis of PG includes mainly condylomata acuminata, angiokeratoma, Kaposi sarcoma, Spitz naevus, verrucous carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, Bowen disease, spindle cell tumours, bacillary angiomatosis and donovanosis.
