Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present the results of puncture breakdown tests on rubber gloves.A positive polarity switching surge voltage (275/2500us), or a 60 Hertz alternating voltage was applied to the glove to cause breakdown. The effect of mechanical pressure on glove breakdown behavior, and the influence of using a leather protector were investigated. It is believed that the results obtained will help to determine the operating limits and reliability of the glove insulation.
