“…Pseudopili annulati was first described by Price et al in 1970 (1), as a type of ringed hair characterized by a strikingly banded appearance in reflected light. This banded appearance is due to superficial optical effects stemming from the characteristic elliptical shape and peculiar twisting of the hair.…”
