Pseudogene HSPA7 is a poor prognostic biomarker in Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma (KIRC) and correlated with immune infiltrates

Abstract: Background Pseudogenes played important roles in tumorigenesis, while there are nearly no reports about the expression and roles of HSPA7 in the cancer. Methods Firstly, we used Logistic regression, the KS test, the GEPIA database, UALCAN database and qRT-PCR to analyze the expression level of HSPA7 in KIRC, then we used the Cox regression and the Kaplan–Meier curve to analyze the overall survival (OS) of KIRC patients with different Clinico-pathol… Show more

“…In recent years, the roles of pseudogenes have been reported to be associated with various human diseases, including cancer, and have attracted much attention [ 22 ]. Several pseudogenes are differentially expressed in glioma tissues and are implicated in biological processes related to tumorigenesis and drug resistance to chemotherapy [ 23 , 24 ].…”

“…Further advancements in technologies that identify new biomarkers to improve the understanding of the regulation of cell processes and treatment of glioma are needed. “…Hence, aberrant FTO expression, which is highly related to MMR deficiency, MSI, TMB, and DNA methyltransferases, may be a hopeful tumor biomarker used to select patients for the immune treatment. Taken together, compared with reported biomarkers, such as eEF2K, 47 NTRK3, 48 and HSPA7, 49 which predict the prognosis of a single cancer, FTO may serve as a prognostic and immune biomarker for more cancers. However, further experiments are needed to confirm these findings.…”

“…Moreover, CPT1A plays a crucial role in radioresistant and chemoresistant phenotypes in diverse cancer types [ 41 , 42 , 82 ]. Equally, altered protein levels of FLNA, HSPA7, HGF, ERO1A, and GARS1, have been related to cancer migration, adhesion, poor patient prognosis, and metastasis [ 48 , 49 , 50 , 83 , 84 ]. Particularly, filamin A (FLNA), a cytoskeleton regulator, has been reported as taking on opposite roles depending on the cancer type [ 47 ].…”
