Abstract: The effect of manganese(III)tetraphenylporphine sulfonate (MnTPPS) on the relaxation enhancement of NMR images (MRI) was studied in experimental brain tumors in rats. Brains were inoculated with the glioma cell line F98 12 to 19 days before the NMR experiment, and the effect of MnTPPS (0.25 mmol/kg body weight) was investigated 2 and 4 days after intraperitoneal injection.
