Proton pump inhibitor deprescription: A rapid review

Abstract: Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) are drugs that suppress gastric acid secretion. Its use, without support from scientific evidence, can contribute to polypharmacy, lead to drug interactions and, in the long term, cause serious adverse reactions.
