Abstract: Summary Mammalian hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) maintain life-long hematopoiesis in the bone marrow. HSCs remain quiescent in vivo , unlike more differentiated progenitors, and enter the cell cycle rapidly after bone marrow injury or in vitro culture.
