Abstract: Cottontail rabbit papillomavirus induces benign tumors, papillomas, in rabbits which progress at a high frequency to malignant tumors, carcinomas. Cottontail rabbit papillomavirus therefore provides an experimental model for oncogenic human papillomaviruses.
