Tomato is one of the most produced vegetables in the whole Brazilian territory, also presenting great income to the family producer. The use of organic or alternative substrates has grown, since its acquisition by the producer is easy. Aiming at these factors, the objective of this work was to evaluate the production of three cultivars, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz Kada Gigante and Santa Adélia tomatoes in seven types of substrates formulated with humus and added bovine manure, chicken manure and carbonized rice husk, thus forming a randomized block design in factorial scheme 7×3. The seeds were sown in styrofoam trays and placed in a greenhouse at Emater-GO experimental station, in the city of Anápolis. Some analyses were carried out to verify the quality of seedlings. The analysis of variance was not significant for the cultivar × substrate interaction, so the analyses proceeded in isolation. The cultivars Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Kada Gigante were superior to cultivating Santa Adélia in all tests. The substrates that contained chicken manure composition were the ones that presented the best results in all analyses.

Brazilian origin species Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong (Fabaceae) is distributed from north to south of the country. The species is a pioneer and important in the manufacture of furniture, boats and canoes, and presents easy handling also being significant for degraded areas recovery programs. As a result, management plans are necessary for the survival of this species. In the context of reforestation and recovery of degraded areas, the production of seedlings of native forest species occurs in nurseries and the quality of these plants depends on several factors, among which, the composition of the substrates is a factor of great importance for having its physical, chemical and biological characteristics directly linked to the growth of the seedlings. The study was based on obtaining knowledge and potential applicability in seedling production, subjecting it to different substrates, in order to evaluate their growth in height, diameter, number of leaves and biomass. The behavior presented by the species suggests its potential for reforestation turned to production and conservationism, since it revealed tolerance to the various types of substrates and better results with the use of organic matter added to the substrate.

RESUMO Estudos relacionados ao aproveitamento de resíduos agrícolas tornaram-se imprescindíveis pela possibilidade de seu uso na produção de mudas de olerícolas e por minimizar o risco de contaminação ambiental decorrente do descarte inadequado. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o crescimento de mudas de tomateiro produzidas em substratos compostos por fibra de coco, casca de ovo e com níveis crescentes de moinha em substituição ao substrato comercial Bioplant. As composições dos substratos testados foram: T0= substrato comercial; T1= 15% de moinha (MO: resíduo da secagem dos grãos de café) + 15% fibra de coco (FC) + 5% casca de ovo (CO) + 65% substrato comercial (SC); T2= 30% MO+ 15% FC + 5% CO+ 50% SC; T3= 45% MO+ 15% FC + 5% CO + 35% SC; T4= 60% MO + 15% FC + 5% CO + 20% SC. Número de folhas, altura de plântula, diâmetro de caule, massa fresca e seca da parte aérea, de raiz e da planta inteira foram avaliados. Os substratos alternativos contendo de 15 a 32% de moinha + 15% fibra de coco + 5% casca de ovo + 48% a 65% de substrato comercial proporcionam os maiores valores de todas as variáveis analisadas. Todas as proporções de moinha estudadas promovem valores das variáveis de crescimento superiores àqueles obtidos quando se usa somente o substrato comercial. O uso de 5% casca de ovo, 15% de fibra de coco, 15 a 32% de moinha e 48 a 65% de substrato comercial é uma alternativa de substrato para produção de mudas de tomate, permitindo um adequado destino a esses resíduos agrícolas.
