Procalcitonina - Diagnostic Marker in Neonatal Sepsis

Abstract: Procalcitonin was proposed to have been a more specific and better value compared to CRP as a marker of prognosis, although its diagnostic value is also contested.This study was conducted in the Department of Neonatology and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of �Pius Brînzeu� Emergency County Hospital Timisoara on a group of 20 newborns coming from 20 mothers that have been found with low procalcitonin.
