Probing the Recognition of Halide and OxyAnions in the Polarprotic and Polaraprotic Solvent Mediums with Neutral UreaBased Receptors: A Computational Study

Abstract: The dynamical nature of the anion recognition with urea-based receptors in polar protic and polar aprotic solvents is scarce in the literature. We report here, the host-guest binding properties of urea and its derivative 1,3-bis-(4-nitrophenyl)-urea with common anions (F À , Cl À , OAc À , H 2 PO 4 À ) in the aqueous phase and acetonitrile medium using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The MD simulations reveal that the halide analytes are on an average distance (~14.0 ) from the receptor moiety in water. T… Show more

“…For example, salicylaldehyde is both a reducing agent and a stabilizing agent that can be used for the formation of coinage metal particles. 19,20 A nanomaterial, a detection element that gives specicity, and a sign transduction system that provides a way of reporting the existence of an analyte are the three elements that make up nanomaterial-enabled sensors. Though each nanosensor can be classied using these three categories, these parts are not always different entities within a sensor.…”
