This country has enormous zakat potential, the figure reaching 330 trillion per year. However, the realization is still far from what is expected and does not even reach 5% of the existing potential. Zakat is a financial instrument in Islam that is able to break the chain of poverty and distribute wealth properly. Zakat is able to provide positive significance in economic growth and elevate human dignity. The large population and wide area of Indonesia, apart from being a potential, also have obstacles in collecting zakat, which has been done using conventional methods. For this reason, researchers conducted research on the extent to which digitization of zakat collection through the epayment system has played a role so far. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with the type of library research and secondary data sources obtained from journals, books, previous research and websites that have good credibility. The results of this study describe a significant increase in zakat funds collected through electronic zakat payments. The e-payment system in collecting zakat has been proven to provide comfort, security, flexibility in time and place, efficiency, and is effective for muzakki in distributing zakat payments.

The development of amil zakat institutions lately makes it easier for donors to donate without directly meeting the recipients, without reducing the meaning of the zakat worship. This research aim to determine background of the financial managers amilzakat institution as a form of compliance and accountability of the reports presented. The object of this research is amilzakat institution incorporated in Madiun Zakat Organization Forum, that is BAZNAS, LMI, LAZISMU, YatimMandiri, BMH, GlobalZakat, Nurul Hayat and Dompet Duafa. Descriptive qualitatif with multiple case study model was used as analysis in this research. Collecting data using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation to informants at each institution. It is shown in this study that educational background, years of service, and position lead cause understanding of accounting, financial reports and accounting standards from financial staff of the amil zakat institution to very different. However, the records carried out in relation to the transaction process to become financial reports as a form of transparency and accountability can run smoothly. This is because office governance, management and human resources in the institution can work together well.

This study aims to identify the dominant factors that influence muzakki in choosing to pay zakat to formal zakat institutions in aspects of individual and institutional perspectives and provide recommendations related to efforts to increase the collection of zakat funds from the community. The research method used is descriptive, factor and mean analysis. Descriptive analysis was used to explain the demographics of respondents while factor analysis and mean analysis were used to obtain the dominant factors affecting muzakki in paying zakat to the Formal Zakat Institution. The results of the study get in the aspect of individual perspective that predominantly influence muzakki paying zakat to formal zakat institutions sequentially is the knowledge of zakat, faith and religiosity as well as awareness and trust while in the perspective of institutional perspectives are management credibility, institutional credibility, service quality and socialization. The advice given is formal institution zakat amil must professionally manage the institution and have standard operating procedures especially related to the procedure of receiving zakat and commitment to implement it properly. In addition, zakat institutions must inform the general profile of the institution and report on zakat funds regularly. Zakat institutions also have the best online payment facilities.
