Abstract: Megalastrum oreocharis is cited in Argentina for the first time. Within Megalastrum, this species differs from the others in Misiones province, for the presence of rachis, costae and veins hairs greater than 0.5 mm and echinate spores. The careful study of microcharacters within the genus Megalastrum has become an important tool to find records of new species in Argentina, which contributes to ongoing biological diversity studies.
