Prescrição E Orientação De Atividade Física Para Idosos Longevos

Abstract: A POPULAÇÃO LONGEVA VEM AUMENTANDO EM TODO MUNDO. JUNTO A ESSE AUMENTO, CRESCE A PREVALÊNCIA DE FRAGILIDADE, QUE AFETA DIRETAMENTE AS APTIDÕES FÍSICAS, COMO FORÇA MUSCULAR, MOBILIDADE, COORDENAÇÃO, EQUILÍBRIO E RESISTÊNCIA AERÓBIA. DESTACA-SE TAMBÉM A DIMINUIÇÃO DO NÍVEL DE ATIVIDADE FÍSICA E DA CAPACIDADE FUNCIONAL NESTE CENÁRIO. DIANTE DISTO, A INTERVENÇÃO POR MEIO DO EXERCÍCIO FÍSICO COM IDOSOS LONGEVOS É CAPAZ DE MELHORAR QUESTÕES RELACIONADAS À FRAGILIDADE, ASSIM COMO DIMINUIR OS IMPACTOS DOS DECLÍNIOS NA… Show more

“…The present review also highlights the importance of supervision by a qualified professional during the execution of the training protocols. Supervision helps older adults identify their levels of physical fitness and the appropriate exercise doses (intensity, duration, frequency), considering the safety and efficacy of training (13). Store et al (51) investigated 17 subjects who trained under the supervision of an instructor and 17 subjects who trained without supervision for 12 weeks and observed a lean mass gain of 1.2 kg in the supervised group, while no change was found in the unsupervised group.…”

“…The World Health Organization recommends multicomponent exercise programs (strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance) for the maintenance of physical fitness in older adults (61). Furthermore, Capanema et al (13) suggested including the correct dose of multiple physical fitness components (flexibility, strength, power, breathing, aerobics, agility, joint mobility, and balance) in intervention programs for the oldest-old. This recommendation is aimed at reducing risk factors associated with falls and injuries, as well as lower limb weakness, gait instability, balance, and cognitive and functional impairment, in addition to preserving levels of independence, improving muscle strength and mobility, and maintaining or improving the capacity to execute activities of daily living (1)(2)(3)(4)8,10,11,15,17,22,26,30,41,(43)(44)(45)(46)50,56,59).…”
