Preparation, Structure and Biological Activities of Mixed Methyldicyclohexyltin Carboxylates

Abstract: The mixed trialkyltin derivatives, obtained by introducing different alkyls on tin atom, have provoked more interests for their multi-bioactivities. And it has become an important branch of organotin chemistry. A series of novel mixed methyldicyclohexyltin carboxylates were synthesized and characterized through IR, 'H, 119 Sn, 13 C NMR and MS. The results showed that the structures of the compounds are dependent on the steric and electronic effects of the carbonyl group. The preliminary pesticidal tests show t… Show more

“…This band disappears on complexation, suggesting the chelation of the oxygen to the metal atoms. The ν(COO) asym and ν(COO) sym stretching vibrations characteristic of the coordinated carboxylate anions were indicated as strong intensity bands near 1600 and 1330 cm −1 , respectively [22]. The observed large separation between ν asym (COO) and ν sym (COO) stretching vibrations [Δν = ν asym (COO) −ν sym (COO) ∼ 270 cm −1 ] for carboxylate group show the bidentate nature of ligands in the complexes.…”

“…The bands attributed to asym (COO) and sym (COO) usually shift their positions rather significantly to lower and upper frequency region, respectively upon coordination to a metal and decrease the value of . It may be due to conversion of the structure of complex from four-to five-coordinated symmetry [8,9]. In this case, value of for trimethyltin(IV) derivative is within the range of silver salt of the ligand acid.…”

“…Similarly, the C Sn O angles lie in the range 82.40(12) to 99.65 (12) • and O(1) Sn (1) O (2) angle is 166.83 (8) • . All these evidences might suggest description of the tin environment as a trigonal bipyramid with O(1) and O(2) in the apical positions and the three methyl groups in the equatorial positions.…”
