Abstract: Abstract This work has been undertaken to study the effect of varying chain length of primary amines on the preparation of aluminum hydroxide gels by precipitation. The aluminum hydroxide gels have been prepared by precipitation from ethanolic solutions of AlCl3.6H2O adding primary amines (propylamine, octylamine, dodecylamine) which acted as proton acceptors during the hydrolysis reaction and made the precipitation possible. The prepared samples were freezedried and activated to temperatures of up to 773 K. …
