Preparation and characterization of PMMA–MG49–LiClO4solid polymeric electrolyte

Abstract: The potential of hybrid polymer 49% poly(methyl methacrylate)-grafted natural rubber (MG49) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as a polymer host in solid polymer electrolyte film for rechargeable battery systems has been investigated. The hybrid films were prepared by the solution casting technique. The ionic conductivity was investigated by alternating current electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The highest conductivity was 1.47 × 10−8 S cm−1 at 20 wt% of LiClO4. The observation on structural studies pe… Show more

“…Others PMMA peaks are also observed after the addition of LiBF 4 salts in MG49-PMMA system at 29.4°, 47.6° and 48.5°. Similar to our previous study on MG49-PMMA at blend ratio (30/70) [8], a maximum ionic conductivity value still occurs due to the reduction of the PMMA peak intensity from hump shape to a broadening shape. The reduction of hump shape in Fig.…”

“…Recently, rubber polymer electrolytes had drawn the attention of many researchers [3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. Modified natural rubber has attractive attributes; it is free standing, flexible and has good elasticity.…”

“…The porosity observed in all of the cross-sectional images when NaI was added into the polymer host may be due to the rapid evaporation of THF during the preparation of the film [34,35]. The sizes of the micro-pores are smaller at 20 wt% of NaI (Figure 6b), and this will make the ions move easily in the polymer host and leads to an increase in the ionic conductivity.…”
