Preparation and Analysis of Complex Barrier Layer of Heterocyclic and Long-Chain Organosilane on Copper Alloy Surface

Abstract: Abstract:A single electrodeposited film of 6-(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)amino-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-dithiol monosodium (TES) on a copper alloy surface was prepared by the galvanostatic method, then octyl-triethoxysilane (OTES) or hexadecyl-trimethoxysilane (HDTMS) was used to modify the electrodeposited film by the self-assembled technique to fabricate the complex film. The electrodeposition process was inferred by cyclic voltammetry. The single and complex films were characterized by means of contact angle, cyclic … Show more

“…62,63 However, the process of reduction of cupric to cuprous mainly attributed to the strong coordination of copper metal in the MOF structure 61 and the strong complexation of Cu 2+ with ATA and the shape of the CV curve is may be due to the electrochemical reaction of copper with applied potential. 64 From Fig. 3a, ATC-MOF shows a better redox behavior compared to ATA, Henceforth complete electrochemical behavior of ATC-MOF was studied.…”

“…The results obtained indicate that the active participation of the carboxylate group of ATA being weakly electron-withdrawing ligands may act as electroactive redox centers. 64 The most possible electron transfer reaction in the electrochemical reaction is as shown below:…”

“…However, some of these compounds are costly and not easily biodegradable. As high reactive, low cost, high solubility, and environmentally friendly compounds, triazinedithiol, and its monosodium salt have been reported to prepare the effective corrosion inhibitive film on metal surfaces by electrochemical deposition [16][17][18][19]. The special tautomer of thiol-thione with highly electronegative atoms like S and O, and the N-containing heterocyclic conjugate system, benefit the triazinedithiol molecules to adsorb on metallic surface.…”

“…Hexadecyltrimethoxysilane (HDTMS) is a fluorine-free organic silane coupling agent, which is often used for hydrophobic and oilphilic modification of inorganic materials. For example, hydrophobic modification is performed on the surface of alloy materials, such as Cu–Zn, 31 Mg–Al–Zn, 32 Ni–Ti, 33 and Al–Mg. 34 Sohrabi et al 35 modified nano-SiO 2 with HDTMS and deposited it on glass.…”
