“…Source reduction, generation, recovery and disposal [27,28] constitute some of the most important segments of integrated MSW management (IMSWM). Some of the wastes are recovered through recycling and composting, for example, enhancing the organic component of the waste through anaerobic digestion processes, even operating on very particular wet fractions [29,30], and others converted into thermal or electrical power [31,32]. In the framework of the EU directives, the Member States have encouraged systems of selective collection (SC) and the recycling of several MSW components.…”

“…China is not classified for garbage disposal, the original garbage contains more impurities, lower calorific value [7,8].Compared with traditional waste disposal (incineration, composting and sanitary landfill), the pyrolysis gasification of waste has the advantages of diversification of raw materials, low dioxin and acid gas content, but because of the complexity of the composition of household waste, there are some problems in the process of gasification. There are three problems in the process of pyrolysis and gasification of municipal solid waste: the tar is difficult to be removed in gasification syngas; the energy density of waste in China is low, component/calorific value is affected by seasonal effect and the scale of pyrolysis gasification is limited.…”

“…In 2014, the country was building 75 plants to process 110,000 tons per day and have a total installed capacity of 2.2 GW. Germany has an incineration plant, property of the German Cleaning Company, capable of incinerating 520,000 tons per day and generate 188 kWh of electricity every year [13].…”
