Abstract:SYNOPSISEucalyptus grandis was thinned before a commercial yield coul~b~ex~e~ted .in an attempt to na~row the distribution of diameters and so raise the proportion of timber within mmmg timber standards. It IS shown that a mid-rotation thinning will not significantly change clearfelling yields although 25 % fewer stems have to be harvested.
