Abstract: Evidence reported that cancers are spreading every nook and corner of the world at an alarming rate. Skin diseases like chronic skin inflammations, psoriasis and skin cancers have also been burning topic in today. Protections of a biological system are often hampered while skin gets damaged. Factors like UV, radiation, viruses, chronic diseases, genetic predispositions, food habits and environmental exposures might lead to skin cancers. In addition to these, urbanization and globalization may also contaminate … Show more

“…A strong antioxidant such as coenzyme Q is mainly applied as a treatment in cancer, inflammation, and maturing. Application of coenzyme Q, for example on human epidermal cells, ensures protection against cell death initiated by reactive oxygen species (ROS) [61]. Supplements of vitamin C, one of the most abundant dietary antioxidants, have been found to ensure protection against oxidative harm caused by tobacco smoking reducing the risk factor of cancer.…”

“…Oxidation by solar radiation has become a principal cause for the development of skin diseases through the excessive production of reactive oxygen species which consequently leads to inflammation and DNA and protein damages [ 52 , 53 ]. Recent studies have reported a direct causal connection between inflammation and cancer development.…”

“…Specifically, such compounds exhibit DNA protection, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, chemopreventive, and chemotherapeutic activities. Among them, flavonoids, phenolic acids, lignins, stilbenes, and retinoids, are the most commonly studied for their anti-cancer potential, especially for skin cancers [ 52 , 53 ].…”
