Fisher and associates reported on a patient whose CT scan showed a hypodense area in the white matter of the frontal and parietal region with mass effect [2]. At autopsy, these lesions were similar to those seen in both postinfectious encephalitis and acute hemorrhagic encephalitis, with findings of demyelination, perivenous edema, inflammation, and hemorrhagic areas visualized predominantly in the white matter.…”
