Abstract: The cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) growth and development during folliculogenesis and oogenesis are accompanied by changes involving synthesis and accumulation of large amount of RNA and proteins. In this study, the transcriptomic profile of genes involved in “oocytes RNA synthesis” in relation to in vitro maturation in pigs was investigated for the first time. The RNA was isolated from oocytes before and after in vitro maturation (IVM). Interactions between differentially expressed genes/proteins belonging t… Show more

“…The main mechanism for the proper maturation and growth of mammalian oocytes is the organization by adequate storage of a large amount of mRNA and proteins. As shown in previous studies of our team [6], both nuclear (reaching MII) and cytoplasmic maturation of oocytes are a key step before successful fertilization, zygote formation, and then the growth and development of early embryos.…”

“…It promotes angiogenesis in the ovulatory follicle [20]. The studies on bovine oocytes after in vitro maturation showed that supplementation with VEGF had a positive impact on cytoplasm maturation and oocyte developmental capacity [21]. We discovered that VEGFA interacts with other genes including INSR and KIT, which also belong to both ontology groups (Fig.…”

“…9 STRING-generated interaction network between genes that belongs to the "cellular response to hormone stimulus" and "cellular response to unfolded protein". The intensity of the edges reflects the strength of the interaction score on gene expression as compared to EGR1 (Celichowski et al 2018).…”
