“…[9] Tubular structures are lined by a single cell layer and resemble terminal ducts. [10] Cells often assume a linear, single-cell arrangement at the tumor periphery known as "Indian file" or "beads on a string" pattern of infiltration. [10,11] Necrosis is, at most, extremely rare and mitotic figures are infrequent and never atypical.…”

[10,11] Necrosis is, at most, extremely rare and mitotic figures are infrequent and never atypical. PLGA invades nerves in about 30% of cases, often in a so-called targetoid arrangement, with cords of cells concentrically arranged around nerves.…”

“…Les lèvres sont touchées dans 13 % des cas, suivies de la muqueuse orale dans 10 % des cas et plus rarement de la région rétro-molaire, du plancher oral et de la langue. Les glandes salivaires principales restent un siège exceptionnel de l'APBG de même que les fosses nasales et le nasopharynx (0,5 à 1 % des cas) [8,9].…”

“…Clinically, PLGA usually has an indolent course and distant metastases are uncommon at the time of diagnosis (2). PLGA are almost exclusively found in the oral cavity, particularly in the palate, upper lip and buccal mucosa (3). It is the second most common intraoral salivary gland carcinoma.…”

“…The two main differential diagnoses are adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) and pleomorphic adenoma. PLGA is typically characterized by morphologic diversity, cytologic uniformity and an infiltrative growth pattern (3,4). A variety of growth patterns may be observed both between tumors and within individual tumors, including cribriform, lobular, trabecular, papillary, papillary-cystic or small duct-like structures.…”
