“…Based on ambulatory BP measurements, hypertensive subjects are divided into two groups: dippers and non-dippers. Despite some conflicting reports, evidence indicates that non-dipper hypertension, which was defined as a reduction in nighttime BP of less than 10% compared to the daytime BP, carries a potential high risk for atherosclerosis, left ventricular hypertrophy, stroke, adverse coronary events, and renal failure [4,5,6,7,8].
