Plasma desmoplakin I biomarker of vascular recurrence after ischemic stroke

Abstract: J. Neurochem. (2012) 121, 314–325. Abstract Stroke patients have a high risk of vascular recurrence. Biomarkers related to vascular recurrence, however, remain to be identified. The aim of the study was to identify, through proteomic analysis, plasma biomarkers associated with vascular recurrence within one year after the first ischemic stroke. This is a substudy (n = 134) of a large prospective multicenter study of post‐stroke patients with an ischemic stroke. Plasma samples were obtained at inclusion. Among … Show more

“…As previously reported in detail, spots from three different 2-DE gels were excised, digested with trypsin and purified as reported 15. Mass spectrometry and MS/MS analysis were performed in a 4700 Proteomic Analyzer (Applied Biosystem, Old Conneticut path, Frammingham, MA, USA) that operated in a reflector positive mode.…”

“…As previously reported in detail, for two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) 500 lg of total plasma proteins were used [10,15]. Plasma samples were loaded on immobilized gradient Immobilized pH Gradient (IPG) strips (18 cm, pH 4-7) and isoelectric focusing was performed with a Protean IEF cell system (Bio-Rad, Hercules, CA, USA).…”
