The objective of this work was to evaluate the arboreal component of a Dense Ombrophilous Lowland Forest fragment through evaluations of richness, structure and diversity. For the sampling of this component, we implanted 40 sample units of 10 × 25 m. We measured all arboreal individuals who presented circumference at breast height ≥ 15 cm, 1.30 m from the ground level. The tree stratum presented 1324 individuals, 100 species, 64 genera and 38 families. The Fabaceae family had the highest wealth and Anacardiaceae was the most abundant. The Shannon index and Pielou equability were 3.60 nats.ind.-1 and 0.78, respectively, suggesting the existence of relevant ecological dominance in the community. The results of this work emphasize the ecological importance of this remnant for maintaining the local flora and fauna, also emphasizing the importance of preserving Atlantic Ombrophilous Forests, particularly in the Zona da Mata of Pernambuco.

ResumoO presente trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar a estrutura fitossociológica de um remanescente de Floresta Ombrófila Mista sobre Latossolo Bruno localizado na fazenda Três Capões, em Guarapuava-PR, sob uma cota altimétrica de 960 m. Essa tipologia, no passado, chegou a recobrir mais de um terço do território paranaense, sendo influenciada por diferentes condições ambientais e tipos de solos que exerceram influência tanto na composição de sua estrutura horizontal quanto vertical. Foram instaladas 22 parcelas fixas de 10x10 m, em uma área homogênea de vegetação de 2,2 ha. A unidade pedológica identificada foi de Latossolo Bruno Tb Distrófico Típico. O critério de inclusão para o levantamento fitossociológico foi a medida do diâmetro à altura do peito dos indivíduos arbóreos ≥4,78 cm. Foram mensurados 423 indivíduos pertencentes a 35 espécies e a 20 famílias botânicas. Os resultados da estrutura horizontal do remanescente mostraram densidade absoluta de 1923 ind/ha -1 e área basal de 64,26 m 2 /ha -1 . Pela análise de agrupamento utilizando a variável de VI%, as espécies foram reunidas em três grupos: I) Predominantes ou principais, II) Intermediárias e III) Ocasionais. As espécies que se destacaram na estrutura florestal foram Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze com VI de 18,29% e Eugenia uniflora L. com 12,97%. Essas duas espécies representam apenas 5,7% da riqueza total e foram responsáveis por 47,0 % da área basal (30,52 m 2 /ha -1 ) e 28,13% dos indivíduos amostrados. Pode-se afirmar que a flora do remanescente é constituída por espécies características da Floresta Ombrófila Mista e a estrutura do remanescente exibiu valores diferenciais para esse tipo de condição pedológica.

This study presents the first micropropagation protocol for greenberry (Rubus erythroclados), a wild Brazilian species with edible green fruits. In the in vitro multiplication stage, three concentrations of benzyladenine (BA) were tested (0, 5 and 10 μM), combined with three concentrations of indolebutyric acid (IBA) (0, 3 and 6 μM) in two subsequent subcultures. In the rooting stage, in and ex vitro rooting were compared after pulse treatment of the microcutting for 10 seconds in IBA (0, 2.46, 4.92 and 7.38 mM). For the in vitro trial, the microcuttings were maintained in glass bottles with an MS medium under controlled conditions inside a growth room. For the ex vitro trial, the microcuttings were planted in styrofoam containers with vermiculite and maintained inside a greenhouse with an intermittent mist system. R. erythroclados multiplication was obtained with the addition of BA to the culture medium, while IBA reduced the shoot proliferation and increased mortality. The ex vitro rooting showed the best results, reaching 95.8% for rooted and acclimatizated plants without IBA. An efficient and simple protocol can be used for R. erythroclados micropropagation with 5 μM BA for in vitro shoot proliferation and ex vitro rooting of microcuttings with intermittent misting.
