“…This leads to the possible influence of sun exposure on the development of PA. Moreover, the typical location of lesions is one of the main characteristics of PA. Usually, they are detected in exposed areas, and this may have an aesthetic impact 1,2,3,13,21,22 . Most of our patients presented mild hypochromic lesions on the face.…”

“…Atopic diathesis is frequently described as a pathogenic factor in PA; some authors even state that PA is a manifestation of a tendency for depigmentation, found exclusively in atopic patients 2,3 . An unequivocal relationship between some signs of AD and PA was found.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…PA could be considered as one of the minor manifestations of atopic dermatitis. 8 In our study, atopic diathesis was documented by clinical history and/or prick tests in 19 of 26 (73%) of the patients in the tacrolimus and 17 of 24 (71%) patients in the placebo group. The mechanism of action of tacrolimus ointment in atopic dermatitis primarily involves calcineurin inhibition, which interrupts cytokine gene expression and leads to the downregulation of T-cell activity.…”

“…The relationship between pityriasis alba and atopic dermatitis was fi rst suggested by Watkins in 1961 [ 15 ] . It is now regarded as a minor feature of atopic dermatitis.…”
