Phosphonate Modified Silica for Adsorption of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)

Abstract: A new phosphonate modified silica (PMS) has been investigated for adsorption of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), andZn (II) II)>Co(II)>Ni(II)>Zn(II). Based on the adsorption characteristic, the adsorbent is promising to be applied as a material for solid phase extraction of transition metal ions. Keywords: modified silica; phosphonate; adsorption ABSTRAK Suatu silika termodifikasi fosfonat (STF) baru telah dikaji sebagai adsorben larutan Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), dan Zn(II). STF disintesis dengan mengimobilisasi amin… Show more

“…The SiOC samples presented characteristic bands of the Si-O, Si-C, and Si-O-Si, as previously decribed ( Zakirov et al, 2007 ; Su et al, 2010 ; Widjonarko et al, 2014 ; Lu et al, 2016a ; Lu et al, 2016b ; Wang et al, 2019 ; Ou et al, 2020 ; Alcaraz et al, 2021 ; Leonel et al, 2023 ; Niu et al, 2023 ). The pyrolyzed sample had a thermogravimetric behavior predicted for SiOC samples, with no change in mass up to 900 °C ( Leonel et al, 2023 ).…”

“…Additionally, a band at around 2924.09 cm -1 that indicates -CH2-stretching from oleic acid is also observed [16]. FT-IR spectra of Fe3O4/SiO2/ED gives broad strong bands at 1072 and 3449 cm -1 which indicates stretching mode for Si-O-Si [15,17] and O-H/N-H [18], respectively. The presence of ED groups is indicated from strong bands at 1087.85 and 2939.52 cm -1 , which are characteristic for Si-O, and -CH2-stretching mode, respectively [18].…”

“…4 shows that the effect of pyrolysis temperature and heating rate on the FTIR profile of biochar is not significant. A band between 1000 cm −1 indicates the presence of silica bond due to the stretching vibrations of Si‐O in the silanol groups 63,64 . A stretching vibration in the 3600–3700 cm −1 range indicates the presence of ‐OH groups (water compound), clearly visible in samples at low temperatures.…”
