Abstract: Philosophy of religion has indeed found a niche for itself within the range of sub-disciplines which makes up philosophy today, yet the factors contributing to that emergence over the past 25 years have been much larger than the discipline itself, and some of them stand to threaten the enterprise as it has attempted to reconstitute itself in full philosophical rigor.
