Peripheral Arterial Disease

Abstract

Professor 'Strandness's book is a stimulating analysis of modem methods of investigation of arterial disease, with special emphasis on physiology and pathology. Much of the book deals with his own research into vascular disease. There are interesting chapters on vascular pathology illustrated by silastic casts of diseased arteries. Original views are expressed on the pathology of arterial disease in diabetics. New advances in methods of blood flow measurement are described using strain gauge plethysmography, electromagnetic flowmetry and, most recently, ultrasound.
