Performance of the audio signals transmission over wireless networks with the channel interleaving considerations

Abstract: This article studies a vital issue in wireless communications, which is the transmission of audio signals over wireless networks. It presents a novel interleaver scheme for protection against error bursts and reduction the packet loss of the audio signals. The proposed technique in the article is the chaotic interleaver; it is based on chaotic Baker map. It is used as a randomizing data tool to improve the quality of the audio over the mobile communications channels. A comparison study between the proposed cha… Show more

“…In the case of identical row and column dimensions, the distance between two adjacent bits of the input bitstream in the interleaved data with length L would be ffiffiffi L p . Although the generated distance is relatively high, in some special cases of turbo code applications, it will not provide sufficiently interleaved data for the second RSC encoder [28,29]. Figure 6.7 shows the block interleaver behavior with square matrix 8 Â 8, the figure clears the one dimensional burst error and two dimensional burst error.…”

“…The performance of the proposed scheme has been evaluated using the computer simulations. An optimal interleaving scheme for transmission of audio information over the wireless channels has been developed in [8]. The simulation approach has been chosen for performance assessment.…”
