Rapid increase in requirements of high speed transmission of multi-media information resulted in development of MIMO systems. MIMO systems have emerged as the most efficient methodology for the high speed robust data transmission. In this paper, the performance of Alamouti Space-time block coded MIMO system is analysed using the metric of efficient image transmission over the Rayleigh fading channel. The transmitted image is modulated using M-PSK modulation technique, and its reconstructed version is plotted as an output function. Zero-forcing equalization is done for the detection of the original symbols from the received symbols which are influenced by the multipath fading and the channel noise. The results for image transmission using 2×1 and 2×2 Alamouti STBC are evaluated for different SNR values. The inverse relationship between the SNR and BER in the results depict that the high value of SNR and receiver antenna leads to enhanced system efficiency with reduced BER and distortion less recovery of image. It is very evident from the analysis of the received images that as we increase the SNR or the number of the antennas at the receiving side, the quality of the received image improves for the same channel environment. During the analysis, it is also found that increasing the number of bits forming one symbol in M-PSK modulation increase the BER which is undesirable. Thus, trade-off between the number of antenna, SNR and the M value of PSK is an essential requirement for achieving enhanced performance.

Efficient signal transmission algorithms for remote sensing gamma radiation over developed mobil WiMax network

SummaryThis paper overcomes two key issues within radiation monitoring networks. Secure and accurate transmission of detected gamma radiation in remote areas is the first challenge. The second one is related to the robustness of transmitted signal under different fading scenarios. These issues are handled during signal transmission over worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMax) networks. The signals are experimentally captured using a 137Cs point source, a NaI (TI) detector, and an analog‐to‐digital converter with 16 MS/s. For the first issue, several algorithms are implemented for secure and efficient transmission of gamma‐based signals. These algorithms include encoding of captured signal, decoding, interleaving, and frequency transformation of modulated signal. Encoding and decoding of target signals are conducted using the Reed Solomon technique and convolutional encoding with a Viterbi decoder. A superior algorithm for channel interleaver using the combinational interleaving method is introduced. Fast lifting transform (FLT) is applied for transforming modulated signal into frequency domain. The results declare that CC = 1/2 with BPSK‐1/2 coding rate introduces a better BER of 0.00068. A higher SNR of 1.5 dB is accomplished by the combinational interleaving algorithm. For the second issue, several models are suggested for overcoming channel degradations under gamma, exponential, Poisson, and geometric fading. Closed‐form expressions that describe outage probability, bit error rate (BER), and symbol error rate (SER) are suggested. Geometric and gamma fading achieve respectively a lower BER of 0.18 and 0.48. These channels demonstrate similar channel performances at 3.6 dB. The proposed models are validated through comparison with published work. Finally, the proposed algorithms enable higher data rate transmission of detected 137Cs signals under higher robustness using WiMax networks.

6G Vision and Challenges: Complexity Analysis of M-MIMO Rate-less Based System with Various Pre-Coding Schemes

Due to the expected essential role of the rate-less digital fountain codes and Massive-Multi-Input Multi-Output (M-MIMO) techniques in the 5G and 6G mobile wireless networks, this paper investigates the performance of M-MIMO enhancing system employing the Raptor code. The proposed M-MIMO-Raptor code based system has been tested over the different wireless communications channel conditions with respect to the various Frequency Doppler (FD). The various promising technologies for the beyond 5G and 6G have been presented with focusing on the advanced error control techniques. The flexible adaptive interleaved pre-code based on the channel conditions is suitable for 6G mobile wireless networks which integrates the various environments of the communications. The complexity of the advanced and fixed code rate schemes is discussed. Several computer simulation experiments are carried out for evaluating the performance of M-MIMO-rate-less code system. These experiments prove the superiority of the presented wireless rate-less system compared to the fixed rate wireless system due to the improved results of BER and the throughput values which are utilized as a performance evaluating metrics. Theoretical analysis of the M-MIMO throughput proves the enhancing of M-MIMO utilizing the rate-less Raptor code and its applicability for the next mobile wireless networks generations.
