Penal Perspectives: Jenkins, Hunt and Howe

Abstract

It is very .important to have a strong Association able to represent the interests of probation officers at the highest level and to make an effective contribution to discussion on matters of professional concern to the Probation and After-Care Service. This is a formidable responsibility at a time when there has been so much fundamental debate about the nature and purposes of the penal system and I certainly hope that the Association will continue to flourish.
