The prolonged covid pandemic has had broad impacts, including a decrease in the character of discipline and responsibility in early childhood. The classical learning model with STEAM content (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) by utilizing loose parts is applied at Busthanul Athfal 'Aisyiyah Bajong as an effort to instill the character of discipline and responsibility in children. This research was conducted to find out how far the application of the STEAM-laden classical learning model by utilizing loose parts can instill the character of discipline and responsibility in children. This research is a field research with a qualitative phenomenological approach. The research object is a classical learning model with STEAM content by utilizing loose parts. Data mining in the study was carried out through observation techniques, interviews and document search. Technical analysis of data using the method of reduction, analysis and classification. The results of the study show that the classical learning model which is carried out by providing STEAM content and utilizing loose parts in learning is able to instill the character of discipline and responsibility in children.Children can take part in the entire range of learning activities presented by educators and complete assignments with full responsibility. STEAM and loosepart content in the classical learning model presents learning that is fun and remains child-centered. The results of the study show that the classical learning model which is carried out by providing STEAM content and utilizing loose parts in learning is able to instill the character of discipline and responsibility in children. Children can take part in the entire range of learning activities presented by educators and complete assignments with full responsibility. The purpose of this preliminary study research is to identify the results of learning Indonesian fiction story material for grade VI UPTD students of SDN Banyuajuh 2. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The instruments used include observation sheets, interview sheets, and test sheets. The analytical techniques used in this study are descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The time for data collection starts on February 25, 2023 until it is completed. The subjects in this preliminary study is a class VI teacher and 29 grade VI students at UPTD SDN Banyuajuh 2. The observation results show that the resitation or assignment method is often used by teachers in learning Indonesian, while students do not fully understand the concept of the subject matter, for example fictional story material. This is one of the causes of low student learning outcomes. From the test results, it shows that there are 2 students who get a score above KKM out of a total of 29 students in the class. The KKM that has been determined by the school is 65, but the data results show that there are 27 students who score below KKM. The conclusion of this preliminary study is that there are several factors that cause low student learning outcomes including the method of resitation or assignment too often applied in learning and lack of giving examples of fictional stories to students. ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian studi pendahuluan ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia materi cerita fiksi siswa kelas VI UPTD SDN Banyuajuh 2. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar observasi, lembar wawancara, dan lembar tes. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Waktu pelaksanaan pengambilan data dimulai pada tanggal 25 Februari 2023 hingga selesai. Subjek dalam studi pendahuluan ini adalah guru kelas VI dan 29 siswa kelas VI di UPTD SDN Banyuajuh 2. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa metode resitasi atau penugasan sering digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, sedangkan siswa belum sepenuhnya memahami konsep materi pelajaran, contohnya materi cerita fiksi. Hal ini menjadi salah satu penyebab hasil belajar siswa yang rendah. Dari hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 2 siswa yang memperoleh nilai di atas KKM dari total siswa yaitu 29 di kelas tersebut. Adapun KKM yang sudah ditentukan sekolah yaitu 65, namun hasil data menunjukkan ada 27 siswa yang memperoleh nilai di bawah KKM. Kesimpulan dari studi pendahuluan ini adalah terdapat beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa diantaranya adalah metode resitasi atau penugasan terlalu sering diterapkan dalam pembelajaran dan kurangnya pemberian contoh-contoh cerita fiksi kepada siswa.

In this study, the factors causing differences in students' abilities were focused on the intelligence factor used by the school as a decision to place students in the Science and Social Studies specialization group. This difference in placement was based on cognitive ability and student interest carried out by the school. Schools still consider the division of the second major to be more important based on moderate to low levels of cognitive ability, so students are in the social studies class group, while moderate to high cognitive abilities are in the science class group. Citizenship education is an existing subject. in the two groups, where the group has been divided based on the cognitive abilities of students. Under these group conditions, the two social studies and science class groups should have a different impact on student learning outcomes. Is the justification that the Social Studies class group, which is grouped based on medium to low cognitive abilities, has lower student end-of-semester exam results than the Science class group, or is it the other way around? The type of research used is quasi-experimental with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. This research was conducted on class XII high school students majoring in science and social studies. Data collection techniques for learning outcomes used descriptions to measure both knowledge and skills. The data analysis technique used is a non-paramatic analysis technique (Mann Whitney U Test). Based on the results of research conducted, obtained if the learning outcomes of citizenship education subjects students majoring in social studies are lower than students majoring in natural sciences. Thus, the learning outcomes of students majoring in natural sciences are higher in citizenship education subjects than students majoring in social studies.
