Abstract:Pd-catalyzed decarboxylative ortho-aroylation of 2-aryl-quinazolinones with α-oxocarboxylic acids for the synthesis of diaryl ketones has been developed. Biologically interested novel quinazolinones with diaryl ketone functionality has been obtained with moderate to excellent yield from easily accessible 2-aryl-quinazolinones having inherent directing group.
“…24 Likewise, the decarboxylative acylation of 2-aryl-quinazolinone 39 with an α-oxocarboxylic acid was accomplished by Kshirsagar et al to give numerous derivatives of diaryl ketone 45 (Table 2, entry 3). 25 However, an elevated temperature had to be used.…”

“…Moreover, complete inhibition of formation of desired product 3 a was observed when reaction was performed in presence of 3 and 4 equivalent of 3,5‐di‐ tert ‐butyl‐4‐hydroxytoluene (BHT) respectively. A plausible synergistic catalytic mechanism is proposed as shown in Scheme 2 on the basis of literature study and controlled experiments [4a,b,13a] . Photoexcitation of photocatalyst [Ru(bpy) 3 ] +2 by visible light generates its excited state [Ru(bpy) 3 ] +2 *.…”
A mild and efficient synergistic approach for decarboxylative aroylation of 2-aryl-pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4ones having intrinsic directing group has been developed by merging of palladium catalysis and photoredox catalysis at [a] R.
An efficient and convenient synthetic strategy for Ruthenium (II)-catalyzed ortho-acylation of N-(2-pyridyl)-anilines using α-oxycarboxylic acids as acyl sources is described. The procedure can be smoothly proceeded under mild conditions, showing...
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
