ÖzKitaplar gibi çok sayıda nesnenin etiketlenmesi, tanımlanması ve sisteme işlenmesi oldukça zaman almaktadır. Radyo Frekansı ile Tanımlama (RFID ) teknolojisi, radyo frekansını kullanarak kitapların tanımlanması ve işlenmesi konusunda hızlı ve verimli bir yöntem sunmaktadır. Ancak birçok RFID teknolojisi arasından en uygun olanı belirlemek içerisinde birçok kriter barındıran karmaşık bir karar problemidir ve çok kriterli karar verme yöntemleri kullanılarak çözülmesi fayda sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada kütüphanedeki kitapların tanımlanması ve tüm süreçlerin kolaylaştırılması için kurulmak istenen RFID sistemi için önemli bir bileşen olan RFID etiketleri arasından en uygun olanını seçmek amaçlanmıştır. İlk olarak, belirlenen seçim kriterleri ve alternatiflere göre hiyerarşik ve ağ yapıları oluşturulmuştur. Daha sonra Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi (AHP) ve Analitik Ağ Prosesi (ANP) yöntemleri kullanılarak alternatifler sıralanmıştır. Çalışma sonunda her iki yöntemden elde edilen alternatif önem ağırlıklarına göre en uygun RFID etiketi tespit edilmiştir.

Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to explore the deployment of RFID technology in fashion supply chain management (FSCM). It highlights the contribution of RFID to FSCM, supporting faster logistics activities, with greater products quality, cheaper and with more responsiveness, improving customer satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach -An inductive theory building approach is used to develop a conceptual model for RFID deployment in the FSCM context. Secondary data analysis from a sample of six companies supports the identification and discussion of the real advantages, disadvantages and barriers felt by companies in a fashion supply chain when RFID technology is introduced. Findings -The logistics activities in the fashion supply chain where RFID technology is most widely deployed are: shipping operations, tracking of raw materials, semi-finished components and finished garments, collecting finished goods, handling processes, tracking containers, tracking products from factory to store, receiving operations, monitoring, and sorting of merchandise. In most cases, the tagging operation is performed at some stage in the production process and tag reading occurs at distribution centres or at stores. The main barrier identified to the deployment of RFID is the problem of interoperability. The costs associated with the technology are the main disadvantage pointed out by the companies. Practical implications -A conceptual framework is proposed exploring the RFID advantages and disadvantages across the fashion supply chain, the main barriers to its introduction and the fashion supply chain logistics activities in which RFID could be found. This represents an important contribution to companies in this industry to become more aware of RFID. Also, new companies which are thinking of introducing this technology could overcome its barriers easily, improving its advantages and minimizing its disadvantages. Originality/value -This paper explores the deployment of RFID in the fashion supply chain from the perspective of technology users.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a ubiquitous technology with a wide variety of uses in several different environments and application domains. The EPCGlobal Class 1 Generation 2, or "Gen 2" specification has recently received significant attention both in notoriety and application. However, while considered a relatively recent technology, the subject of RFID has a long history in intellectual property (IP) patents, which can be traced in the United States back to at least 1930. This paper describes three important points in the development of in RFID related to IP beginning with foundational patents in Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) and how this technology has become the foundation for current RFID efforts. The second important turning point relates to difficulties faced by ubiquitous application of a technology without involving IP using the Gen 2 specification as an example. Finally, a patent application in process is presented that allows the automated generation of new RFID protocols. This final IP has the potential to encompass many more specific patents related to RFID communication protocols and provide a new emphasis on how IP is regarded for RFID.
