Abstract: In the conventional mobile ad hoc network (MANET) systems' route rediscovery methods, there exists route failure in all route discovery methods resulting in data loss and communication overheads. Hence, the routing has to be done in accordance with mobility character of the network. In this manuscript, a particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based lifetime prediction algorithm for route recovery in MANET has been proposed. This technique predicts the lifetime of link and node in the available bandwidth based on th… Show more

“…The evaluation of packet drop ratio is provided in the figure 4. In this figure, the performance of the ER-KFPSO is represented given in red line and the line in green denotes the performance of the existing PNLP method [15]. It is evident that the count of packet transmission has decreased.…”

“…Average packet delivery ratio: It is the fraction, amount of packets conventional successfully and the total quantity of packets broadcasted. The proposed ER-KFPSO algorithm executes improved PDR ratio evaluated with existing PSObased node and link lifetime prediction algorithm (PNLP) method [15].…”

“…FF-AOMDV was compared against the AOMDV and AOMR-LM and the performance is shown to be better in a series of QoS metrics. Moreover, there are other multipath routing protocols that consider QoS metrics such as delay, bandwidth and energy [24], [25], [26]. In these protocols, the decision taken by the receiver depends on QoS metric measurements gathered by the request packets before it replies back to the sender node.…”

“…However, this approach requires an adaptive strategy to guide agent behaviors, for which the effectiveness depends highly on the density of the network. In [21], a particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based lifetime prediction algorithm for route recovery in MANET was proposed. This technique predicts the lifetime of link and node in the available bandwidth based on parameters such as the relative mobility of nodes and energy drain rate, etc.…”
