Abstract: A 35-year-old male patient with palpitations and mild lightheadedness was admitted to our clinic. Short-lasting paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia was diagnosed following 12-lead electrocardiography (ECG). A mass that included two-thirds of the interventricular septum and the left ventricular cavity was seen by two-dimensional echocardiography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Specific hemagglutination tests for hydatid cyst were positive. The mass was excised, and the patient had a septoplasty operation t… Show more

“…Infection of the heart occurs in 0.5-2% of all HC cases. [6][7][8] To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of sustained VT in a patient with IVS cyst. Cardiac HCs are intramyocardial and are mostly located in the LV followed by the IVS and the right ventricle.…”

“…Electrocardiography showed nonspecific abnormalities of T-and Q-waves, RBBB and arrhythmias such ventricular tachycardia a rarely. [1][2][3][4][5][6] Dissection of the left ventricular free wall is also reported. 6 Echinococcal eggs are ingested by humans through contaminated foods and by close contact with infected animals.…”

“…3 The distribution of cardiac echinococcosis parallels that of coronary blood flow, and most lesions occur within the left ventricle. Clinical picture depends of the location and size of the cyst [3][4][5] . Large cystic masses like a presented case may cause partial obstruction of the LV cavity and thus may result in chest pain and insidious dyspnea.…”
